My Poor Ah Pooh..

Don't be surprised to see this "winnie-the-pooh-lookalike-but-out-of-shape" soft toy, yes! it's REALLY winnie the pooh!..

Slightly out of shape and slightly distorted, you must be wondering what have I done to my poor Ah Pooh.

I break his neck..

I break his arm..

Am I so aggressive? NOoo..... it's because I've been cuddling this softie for 9 years! that explains why he ends up in this state! haha..

No worries, he just went under the knife..I mean needle..BIG THANK YOU to my mummy! Bravo!! He looks perfectly fine now.. =)

I thought..

I thought I did not, in fact, I did...
I thought I have, in fact, I have not...
I thought I would not, in fact, I would still..
I thought I am not, in fact, I am...

I think ... I'm thinking too much...

A Day to Remember - 20 Dec 2006

I thought my next trip back to Ipoh would be during CNY.. but my family and I had to make a trip back last wed. The day which my whole family had been mentally prepared for had arrived. My paternal grandma had passed away at the age of 84.

I thought I wouldn't be that sad at all after receiving the news at 5am as she had been sick for 2 yrs. Seeing her suffering for the past 2 yrs was sadder than receiving the news. But.. as soon as I reached home, seeing her lying there, I just couldn't hold back my tears. I couldn't believe my eyes. She had become so small compared to the time I last saw her a few weeks ago. At first, I thought "it" was a paper doll.

Going through the wake and funeral was rather interesting.. with those beliefs, myths and rituals to be followed strictly. Such as:

1. Can't cut hair for the first 3 months of mourning period
2. Can't wear bright colours clothes
3. Can't enter into ppl's house - I can't go anywhere during cny!
4. Can't (Discourage) attend weddings/ birthdays
5. "Jaga" my grandma during the wake. MUST not let any pregnant cats to cross over her or else.. she would awake! sounds ridiculous but still have to adhere to the elders..

I often wanted to ask "why like that? why like this?".. but then I know the elders don't have answers to my questions either.. they just follow the rituals as what it passes down from generations.

During the "last journey to send my grandma off" - everyone just couldn't fight back their tears including myself. Like what my father said to us - "though ah ma wasn't that close to us, afterall she is still my mother, your grandma".

I guess no matter what, I couldn't deny the fact that we'd been affected emotionally at that moment. She - as my ah-ma for the past 24 yrs is no longer here...

Stressed...

Out of sudden.. my stress level is rising rapidly till I can't breathe.

First reason:
My friend asked me how was my job application going on? He got offer from MAS.

He asked if I applied for F&N or SIA? I did not..

He asked why not? I dunno really have a reason..

Interested in SIA .. but with my lousy grades, I doubt I can get into SIA..

In the end.. he advised me to act fast.

And now.. I'm scared, panicked and nervous..

Am I the only one who's still clueless about what I wanna do after I grad?

2nd reason:
The deadline for my FYP is due in March.. still far to go?? NOT REALLY..

I still haven't started my data collection.. and the questionnaire has to be sent to China.. I'm so afraid tat we might not have the time to finish by March..!! Argh.... !!!

One bucket of tears...

I've been crying alot lately... don't get me wrong. Just that I've been watching korean/japan dramas.. that's why.. My eyes are still red and swollen..

So, what are those tearjeaker drama that held responsibility for my swollen eyes?

First, I watched Princess Hours - I cried..

Then, I watched Lovers in Paris - I cried and cried..

Then, I watched One Litre of Tears - I cried and cried and cried non stop.. from the 1st episode till 11th. (phew, luckily it has only 11 episodes)!

First gotta know about this drama during my internship from my PA mates - Xinyi & Ayu. At first, I find the title of this show rather funny.. really got ppl cry 1L of tears? Even funnier when my other PA mate- Alfred told us he drinks 1L of water everyday!

Watched one episode on SCV and the next moment, I went to search for this drama in youtube! I've to admit.. it's indeed a very meaningful story.

This drama is based on true story. It's very touching.. you guys have to watch it.. remember to prepare tissue papers or hankie!!

Coz.. I think I've cried one bucket of tears...

Worries..

One more core and GE to go.. and FYP to complete.. and I'm done as an undergrad (provided that I pass all my subjects last sem). Should I be happy?

Not really.. in fact I've started to worry.

Looking at my degree audit, I have NO reason why I SHOULD NOT be worrying. I wonder how my future employers would react upon seeing my transcript! Would they want to employ me?? I wonder.. sigh..

My Lovely Hometown

Went back hometown last weekend to attend my ex-neighbour cum chilldhood fren cum sort-of-relative's wedding. Alright, to cut it short, my friend's wedding. She's 26 this year.

This is my 2nd time back in hometown. The previous time was during CNY. So, it has been 9 months since I last went back. Any major changes??

Not really... except for the drastic change in weather - extremely hot in the afternoon followed by heavy downpour in the evening. And for the safety aspect, it had not been good. Lots of car snatchings, kidnapping, gals missing and murders. Moreover, I was carless. So I couldnt really move freely here and there. That explained why I din't hang out at night during my stay in Ipoh.

I think I had been eating non stop for my 4 days back in Ipoh. Well.. at least I had satisfied all my cravings that I'd been longing for. :)

Anyway, dragged my mum to go for morning breakfast as soon as I reached Ipoh around 5.30am coz I had been craving for dim sum.

My fave dim sum ever - Ming Court. This picture was taken when I had finished eating at 7 plus.. and mind you, it was already full house when we left!

Some ppl don't like dim sum at Ming Court coz their servings are relatively smaller for the amount paid... but it tastes superb (at least to me).

Wondering who paid for this sumptuous breakfast?? of course.. my mummy paid for it.. hehe..

My 2nd craving was the famous "Ipoh Hor Fun" and "Nga Choi Kai".

You know what, though my hometown is in Ipoh, I seldom go for it. Been craving for damn long that I made sure I must eat it this time. Haha.. so I dragged my 2 lovely darlings to go with me.

Waited so long for my Ipoh hor fun and my long waited nga choi kai

*yummylicious*

And.. not to forget my 2 lovely darlings - Eve and Chloe who foot the bill. (She din't want me to pay for the dinner!)

My 3rd craving - of course not to be forgotten. In fact is my must-have everytime I go back ipoh.

My fave - Ipoh White Coffee (Bak Ka Fe). Maybe I should persuade the boss to open a franchise here in Sg! - the genuine Ipoh White Coffee!!

My 4th "craving" - my dear lil cousin brother.. hehe.. coz he was born on the day I went back to Sg after CNY celebration. Been hearing for my mum, dad and my brother saying that he's super duper cute!! He was overweight okie!

Let you all see how cute he is!!

This was his expression when he saw me for the first time! (just kidding). He had been passing around like a ball for everyone to "bao bao".

His mouth would open automatically when he sees food! That explained why he was overweight!

His eyebrows look like ShinChan's. haha

Some thought he's Korean baby due to his small small eyes.

The 'lil "Robert Zai" - tat's his nickname! hehe..
He's younger than me 2 rounds of the Chinese calendar, which means 24 yrs!!

Though my stay in Ipoh was a short one and it was slightly lonely.. but I do think it was a fruitful one! I ate what I wanted to eat.. I met who I wanted to meet and I din't see what I don't wish to see.

And... I still miss my beloved hometown! See you when I'm back in Feb!!
